The university, founded in 1848, has more than 40,000 students and 10 faculties: Arts, Law, Education, Graduate and Postgraduate Studies, Engineering, Medicine, Science, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and the Telfer School of Management. Some 450 programs of study are available through its faculties and schools, including more than 70 that offer a cooperative education option enabling students to gain practical work experience and prepare for their future career.
